# ChatGPT Says Unusual Activity Detected

*Live tool: in a browser this page shows the connection of whoever opens it. Below: what it checks and the answers it gives.*

> **What ChatGPT shows:** "Our systems have detected unusual activity coming from your system. Please try again later."

### Why ChatGPT does this

ChatGPT limits addresses that send a lot of traffic or that belong to VPNs, proxies and datacenters, where automated tools run.

Many people share one address on mobile networks, offices and public Wi-Fi, so someone else's activity can get you flagged too.

### How to fix it

1. Turn off any VPN, proxy or iCloud Private Relay, then reload ChatGPT.
2. Disable browser extensions for a moment, especially ones that change your connection or block scripts.
3. Switch networks: home Wi-Fi instead of mobile data or public Wi-Fi, or the other way round.
4. Wait a while: these limits usually lift on their own.

### Why does ChatGPT say unusual activity detected?

Its systems think requests from your address look automated or come through a VPN, proxy or datacenter. Shared addresses on mobile and public networks make it more likely.

### Is my account banned?

Usually not. The message is about the address. Changing networks or waiting a while normally fixes it.
