Why Google does this
Google decides your location from your address first, then from your device's location, your Google Account and your past activity.
If your address is placed in another country, by a VPN, a privacy relay or a wrong database entry, Google follows it.
How to fix it
- Turn off any VPN, proxy or iCloud Private Relay and reload Google.
- Check the country above. If it's wrong while you're at home, see why your IP shows another city: your provider can ask the databases to correct it.
- Let your browser or phone share its location with Google: device location wins over the address.
- Check the location line at the bottom of a Google results page, and your Google Account's country settings.
Fixed something? Reload this page: the checks above update with your new connection.
How does Google know my country?
From your address, your device's location if you allow it, your Google Account and your activity. Your address is the first thing it sees.
Why is YouTube showing another country?
YouTube uses the same location as Google. If your address is placed abroad, YouTube shows that country's trending videos and ads.
